#WeAreTOMRA: Meet Anna, Senior Application Engineer XRT

Based in Wedel, Germany, Anna Krause works as Senior Application Engineer XRT at TOMRA Mining, a subpart of TOMRA Recycling. She specializes in X-ray Transmission (XRT) applications, determining whether materials can be efficiently sorted, supporting on-site commissioning and optimization, and delivering training to help customers and colleagues unlock the full potential of TOMRA’s sorting technology.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Every day is different. On Monday we are sorting Gold Ore from Peru, while on Tuesday I’m supporting the commissioning of a fluorite plant in Mexico, evaluating magnesite assays, or preparing a field visit to Namibia to sort rare earths. No two days are ever the same.

What inspired you to join TOMRA?

Raw materials are essential to society today. I studied mining because I wanted to make the industry more sustainable and help protect the Earth’s resources. I’m proud to work for a company that is leading the resource revolution in the mining sector.

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?

I’m a music enthusiast. I love going to concerts with my friends and really enjoy singing. I sing alto in a classical choir and have a soft spot for karaoke – customers sometimes even get a small preview when I start singing in the Test Center.

How would you describe the culture at TOMRA?

I’m happy to work in a place where I can be 100% myself. TOMRA has always made me feel that I’m good enough as I am.

What does diversity mean to you at TOMRA?

Diversity at TOMRA makes my life richer and is a key element in generating positive and creative ideas.
